Adoptable Area Cats

Thursday the 29th was National Cat Day.

One of the stated goals of NCD is to find homes for adoptable cats. Many of these cats would really rather be in a furrever home than their current situation. I went to a few area PetSmart stores and looked at their adoptable cats, but I did not hold or pet any of them today.

My first stop was in Mattoon, where cats from Edgar County and Effingham were waiting for adoption.

Amber, a pretty little calico, came from the Effingham Animal Rescue Sanctuary (EARS). Her mother was a stray and her siblings have found homes already.

Bender is a tabby from the Edgar County Humane Association (ECHA). He has been in two foster homes.

Wilma is a grey tuxie from ECHA. She was the runt of her litter and the rest of them have found homes.

At the Decatur PetSmart, all the kitties were asleep, so I did not take any pictures of them.

Then it was off to Champaign, where I saw Buttons, a Siamese mix (some tabby features, but the voice of a Siamese) from Prairieland Shelter. She came to the shelter when her previous human died.

Black cat Bella and two kittens were also there ; I did not get enough information to describe them. The tuxedo kitten wanted to play, and stuck her hand through the cage to get to my phone (with my camera).
